went for the selection round (aka second interview with a twist) at the company yesterday. was quite nervous at first because I didn't know who I would be dealing with (if it was gonna be a violent kid). but who knew! it was a cute little boy!!! *grinz*
the entire 4 hours there was quite fun actually. all the candidates took turns interacting with the kid, engaging him with toys. we were also assigned a specific task in the end. it was more complicated than mere play (but for confidentiality purposes, i cannot give the details here). it wasn't easy cos we had to take turns playing with the kid in front of everyone (we had to "sell" the toy to Z (the little boy), to make interesting sounds and make the kid smile) and at the same time, we were on the end of receiving criticism from the supervisors.
BUT,
everything turned out well. really wanna thank God for His favor upon me, with the supervisors and the kid, especially. i was able to get the kid's interest each and every time. but it wasn't easy cos you had to think on your feet most of the time. but thank God for just even pouring new ideas into my head as I picked out the toys that had multiple qualities, and also for this natural ability to just interact with kids and be comfortable with them. i realized that this job really requires me to think quickly, to manage stress well, and to be creative, for instance, to play a toy in ways other than its original function. hahaha. i'm a kid who never grew up, and never got tired of playing (if you knew me well enough, i only stopped playing with Barbies in jc). and gosh. Z is super cute!!!!! only 2 years old!! it's super hard not to like him la!
i think i made a strong and positive impression on both supervisors. received many positive comments, consistently in all the tasks that we were instructed to do.
haha will know if i'm gonna be selected by Monday. already submitted everything into God's hands. if He wills it to be, then it'll be. if not, haha i know He has another door for me. =)
